Trump's Priorities: Eagles or People?
The military strikes on "suspected" drug boats continue . . .
As a long-time birdwatcher, I cherish our Bald Eagles. They are majestic birds. I would seek them out, even if they were not America’s National Bird. Many years ago, when the Eagles faced extinction, I welcomed the passage of the Endangered Species Act.
Donald Trump seems to share my love of eagles. Gold ones now grace speaking podiums at the White House and, for all I know, he may have a picture of one of the golf balls he uses at Mar-a-Lago.
I wasn’t surprised when Trump called for the closing of offshore wind farms. I’ve read the President turned against them when they marred the view from one of his golf resorts.
Recently, Trump paused the federal leases awarded to various energy companies to generate electricity from offshore wind farms. Among the reasons cited by Trump was that windmills kill birds.
While reading Truth Social earlier this week, I read Trump’s post about windmills and Eagles. I wondered, what about the “suspected” drug smugglers that are being killed indiscriminately? Trump appears to be okay with an innocent human being killed more than an Eagle. That is troubling.
