Trump, Putin Just Made You Look Like a Fool
Russia just did what everyone thouht it would--everyone except Trump

Sometimes dreaming it doesn’t make it happen. President Trump, confident in his greatness and future Nobel Peace Prize, assumed the force of his personality (and the implied threat of a B-2 bomber with four F-35s escorting it in a fly-by to greet Putin) would send him home with a “win” from Anchorage—or at least a cease-fire.
Trump got nothing for his efforts except a short lecture on the history of Russia’s former ownership of Alaska. There was no agreement or preliminary agreement. He looked foolish.
The meeting, which struck many as an attempt to distract the American public from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, backfired. But when the public’s attention was diverted to the Alaska meeting, America saw a loser.
Ukraine and Europe—and most Americans—were pulling for Trump. All of us want the war over, but not at the cost of Ukraine ceding massive amounts of territory to Putin. And unfortunately, Trump is willing to make that concession. If Ukraine and Europe agreed, the war would end, Trump would “save” the U.S. billions in military aid to Ukraine, and Trump could start planning his trip to Oslo to pick up his Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump’s Ukraine policy is wrong—morally and practically wrong.
Trump is the return of Neville Chamberlain, who learned the hard way that appeasing Hitler to prevent a world war didn’t work.
Did you know that the medal Peace Prize winners get is worth $1.3 million? Is that why Trump seems obsessed with winning one?
Will Europe tell Trump no?
The Ukraine peace negotiations, which are really not Ukraine peace negotiations because America’s master negotiator decided the outcome would be better if Ukraine did not participate, are back to square one. Putin is a brick wall. And the only way that will change is for Ukraine, with help from its allies, to blast that wall to oblivion.
Will Europe stand up and tell Donald Trump, “We won’t help you throw Ukraine and Zelensky under the bus?” Will they provide Ukraine with the necessary support to continue the war?
If Europe has had enough of Trump’s “leadership” and tells him, “Thanks for your help; we’ll take it from here,” what will Trump do? Will Trump impose higher tariffs on Europe?
With Trump, you never know. The President left Anchorage on Friday a loser. He must have felt the same way he does when he hits a golf ball into the water.
Where does Trump go from here? That is the Sunday issue of the week.
Thank you.
Thank you for reading Sunday Issues. I hope your week is a good one. And I hope this week is a better one for the United States of America than the last couple of weeks.

It didn't take much!
