Trump's obsession with Jim Comey.
Good morning. This will be a short Sunday Issues. I want to focus on—surprise—the President of the United States.
I perused Truth Social this morning to see how the President spent his Saturday night and Sunday morning. The answer: thinking about retribution against former FBI Director Jim Comey.
I found fewer than five new repostings, all calling for the arrest of Comey for calling for the assassination of Donald Trump.
Comey photographed seashells placed on a beach to form the numbers “8647." I was curious when I read the story that current FBI Director Kash Patel and the Secret Service planned to investigate Comey for posting the image on Instagram. My understanding was that “86” was a slang term for cutting off drinks to a drunk in a bar.
Director Patel and many supporters of the President have a different understanding. They believe it means “kill someone.”
I checked Wikipedia for their understanding. I found this:
In the hospitality industry, it is used to indicate that an item is no longer available, traditionally from a food or drinks establishment, or referring to a person or people who are not welcome on the premises. Its etymology is unknown, but the term seems to have been coined in the 1920s or 1930s.
President Trump, fresh from his history-making marketing trip to Saudi Arabia and its neighbors, liked what he saw when MAGA supporters called for the immediate rest and prosecution of Comey.

Hypocrite?
Trump is no stranger to calling for assassinations or inciting others to political violence. Remember his speech immediately preceding the January 6, 2021 insurrection?
Consider also this image, said to be posted by Trump on social media. Arguably, posting a picture of the President of the United States hogtied is less subtle than posting a picture of seashells on a beach.
And did you know that Trump once called for the murder of Liz Cheney?
What is the state of Trump’s mind?
Something isn’t right with Trump these days. By endorsing the prosecution of Comey, what is he telling us? And what does Qatar get for stroking Trump’s massive ego? Consider this image of Air Force One (the old one) landing in Qatar:
I won’t mention the meme coins, except to say that if you want to attend the May 22 dinner with the President at his Virginia golf club, it is too late. Trump has already announced the “winners” who earned a seat by buying $Trump.

Trump is fixated on Comey now. Yesterday he also did the following:
- Reposted a threat towards Supreme Court justices who ruled against him.
- Demanded Walmart “EAT THE TARIFFS
- Posted a video promoting a wild conspiracy theory that links Bill and Hillary to the deaths of John F. Kennedy Jr., DNC staffer Seth Rich, former White House lawyer Vince Foster, and others.
He posted some other nonsense, too. He's more deranged with each passing day. I think it's time for the men in white coats to take him away. At the very least someone needs to take his phone away.
Someone pointed out on Substack this morning concerning what they are saying about Coby calling for him to be jailed
They addressed it with a picture of the GUILLOTINE that Trump Maga supporters brought to the January 6 insurrection riot, and attempt to take over our government as they were yelling
“ hang Mike Pence”
“Hang Nancy Pelosi “
It is all disturbing twisted demented, thinking and projection
They actually think speaking up about Trump is treason
This is a very malignant, narcissistic, vicious, fascist, authoritarian movement that has been decades in the making
Tonight I believe on CNN they will play Richard Nixon’s interview with David Frost where he was the first president to ever say when the president does it, it is not illegal. The Republicans that backed him in this thinking never went away.
